Parent & Teacher Association

Hello and welcome to the Chulmleigh Primary School Parent & Teacher Association!  We support and raise money for the school to provide activities and resources to enrich the curriculum across all year groups. From the Nursery to the Year 6 Academy.

We have a full and fun programme of annual events including Christmas and summer fayres, discos, raffles, coffee mornings, pre-loved sales, and all manner of fun activities where the whole school can come together to make friends and raise funds.

Our recent successes include: funding a brand-new ICT Suite to replace the previous ageing and problematic network; outdoor storage sheds for KS1 topic-centred outdoor play; construction blocks and other playground toys to get the children active and enjoying the fresh air; sensory equipment and SEND resources; interactive learning materials such as solar system models, maths scales and creative STEM build-and-connect sets.

Furthermore, we think it’s important for us to invest in the broader aspects of the syllabus and have funded Cultural Champions to come to the school and work with the children to help them understand other religions, beliefs and diverse cultures.

We also donate money to each class every year, for the teachers to buy items they think will benefit their teaching: resources that may not be available through other school funding lines, but that are essential to bringing learning to life and making the lessons exciting and interactive.

Your PTA group is a brilliant way to bring together parents, teachers and the local community, to make friends and to have a positive impact on the delivery of education for your children and your school.

Our PTA is led by the Committee, but you don’t have to be on the Committee to get involved.  We always welcome new parents to come along, share ideas and volunteer to help out. Everyone can get involved even if they only have a small amount of time available.  We are all parents or teachers so totally understand the commitments of work and family, there’s no pressure to do more than you want/can, we’re just really happy to get help from as many people as possible.

For more information or just to get in contact for a chat please pop us an email on chulmleighpta@gmail.com, look out on our dedicated noticeboards at the school or visit our Facebook page.  We look forward to getting to know you.
