Design and Technology Technician

30 Hours per week x 39 weeks per year

Grade D: £10.41 to £11.50 per hour

 (depending on experience)

AT CHULMLEIGH COLLEGE

Required from September 2021

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to support our Department of Creative Technologies.  The successful candidate will need to be flexible as tasks vary from day to day and candidates must be prepared to work with and assist our committed and hardworking pupils at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4  (ages 11 -16). The College currently offers GCSE Design and Technology in Year 10 ad 11 (AQA Syllabus). 

The post holder will be required to work closely with the Head of Creative Technologies and departmental staff, but will also need to use their own initiative and be confident to work independently providing technical support to the Department.

The role will include:

  • Preparation and supervision of specialist equipment for lessons.
  • Preparing resources and materials.
  • Providing Technical support to the teaching staff and pupils.
  • Classroom displays.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment including the completion of risk assessments.
  • Ordering and maintaining resources.

Subjects currently taught are ICT, Computer Science, Design and Technology and Food and Nutrition. We are seeking a person who can share their expertise with our students. Training for specialist equipment will be provided.

This permanent position will be available from September 2021.
