Grade D (£10.41- £11.50 per hour, depending on experience)
Fixed Term until August 2021
Chulmleigh College is seeking to appoint a strong and confident individual to supervise pupils in the absence of their usual teacher. This is an additional role to support our pupils’ learning and we would welcome an early start date. The successful applicant will be a passionate believer in education as the main driver for social justice. A disciplinarian with strong communication skills you will recognise that pupils require structure and good order to flourish. Committed to our ethos of high academic standards, you will ensure that our pupils continue to come first no matter what the challenges we face.
You will be highly organised with an eye for detail and routine. Supervising our Cover Room, you will ensure that our pupils make good progress with the work set for them by their teachers and are safe. We are seeking someone with the confidence and strength to supervise more than one class of pupils in a large space, a system that we have operated successfully for a number of years. You will receive close support from the senior leadership team in this key function in our college.
Chulmleigh College is a thriving school with a strong reputation. Our pupils are our best ambassadors; they are excellent and represent the best of what young people today have to offer. Examination outcomes at the college have been consistently excellent over the last six years, placing Chulmleigh as one of the highest performing schools in the South West. The standard of academic work and pupil conduct is exceptionally strong. A culture of high expectation and strong teacher and pupil relationship have led to Chulmleigh securing a national reputation for excellence across the key accountability measures judged by the Department for Education, particularly in terms of the English Baccalaureate.
Experience of working in a school environment will be an advantage but full training will be provided.
This is a fixed term post, in the first instance until 31st August 2021, pending a review.
