Spring Term - February
The preschool children have been enjoying our current topic this half term gardening.
They have been observing the daffodils and snowdrops growing in the garden and we have planted some pretty flowers in the growing garden.
The children have also been running a busy garden centre in their roleplay area, selling flowers, plant pots and serving drinks and cakes!
We have also created our own little fairy garden which the children look after the plants and leave water for the fairies.
We enjoyed tasting noodles, sauces and prawn crackers for Chinese New Year which they found delicious!
We are excited for our next topic being around recycling and caring for our planet.
Spring Term - January
Happy new year from everyone here at East Worlington preschool.
After a lovely Christmas break the children at East Worlington preschool have come back to a new topic to explore gardening and plants.
We have transformed the roleplay shed into a gardening centre, lots of seeds compost and plant pots to fill.
We will also be creating our own little veggie garden where we're hoping to grow our own food for the snails.
We will be looking at the seasons and the changes they bring this term.
Autumn Term - December 2018
This half term we started off with talking about autumn and autumn colours, we created our own autumn collages and pictures using fallen leaves, conkers and sticks and enjoying lots of lovely autumn walks. The children also helped make pumpkins fizz and made our own potions using pumpkin seeds, glitter and water.
We joined the school to visit the war memorial laying down our wreath where we also took part in 2 minutes silence.
We are now enjoying lots of Christmas activities, making our own reindeer food, getting ready for our Christmas nativity and carol service and we have our very own Santa’s workshop where the children can help to wrap presents and build their own toys.
We have been joined by a cheeky Elf until Christmas who is causing mischief in the school!
Some of our children will also be joining the school for the panto- peter pan this year so we have been reading the story and creating our own Neverland!
Preschool also took part in the school’s nativity play where they sang ‘twinkle twinkle little star’ so beautifully.

We have been learning all about what they like to eat and preparing their fresh food every day.
This half term we have transformed the role play into goldilocks and the three bears where the children can make porridge and go on many bear hunts in the garden.
Last half term preschool had great fun reading the different versions of Goldilocks and the three bears, our roleplay was the bear’s cottage where lots of porridge was made! We also went on a teddy bears picnic to East Worlington’s house where the children took their favourite teddy with them.
