First of all, I would like to thank Holly Bonner, and Tom and Megan Pearce for taking charge of the very professionally run crèche on Monday evening. They did a brilliant job of keeping everyone entertained, ensuring the adults could attend the meeting uninterrupted, and clearing up my class room at the end of the evening. A huge thank you to all of them.
Secondly, thank you to all those who were able to attend the meeting on Monday, to hear and comment on the proposals put forward by the Directors for the potential re-structure of our school. It was wonderful to see the school packed with so many interested parties. The initial discussions were shown (by an informal display of hands) to be nominally in favour of the proposal to split the classes differently next year – making my class, a class of Reception , Year 1,2 and 3; and Mr Walters’ Class a class of year 4, 5 and 6. This would balance the school well, ensuring that every child is given the best possible chance of a rounded educational experience, whilst still allowing the exceptionally high adult child ratio that enables our children to have the best possible start to their learning. This meeting will be followed up by discussions with the interested parents as well as continued directorial reviews. The first of these parents talks will take place on Friday 13th February at 2.30pm in school with Mr Walters and me. This decision is certainly not set in stone and if anyone has anything to add to the discussions, please do come and share them with us.
